IFLA, working with the Consorium of European Research Libraries, has submitted comments on the draft Regulation on the Import of Cultural Goods.

In the spirit of ensuring that the new rules work effectively for documentary heritage, the proposed changes argue that it should be simple to import works temporarily in order to digitise them, that efforts should be focused on higher risk materials, and that requirements imposed should reflect the needs and practices of different secors.
