De Gruyter Saur and IFLA are delighted to announce that the winner of the De Gruyter Saur IFLA Research Paper Award 2015 is Ana Pervan with her paper, The role of data curator in the CERN Particle Physics Data-Sharing Community.  The author receives prize money of EUR 1.000, donated by De Gruyter Saur.  Her article will be published in the September issue of LIBRI, a leading international scholarly journal published by De Gruyter.

This year's topic for the De Gruyter Saur IFLA Research Paper Award was Digital Libraries: knowledge creation and sharing, with the aim of advancing research into the role of digital libraries in facilitating knowledge creation and sharing.  Submissions were evaluated by a panel of committee members of the IFLA Library Theory and Research Section: Anna Maria Tammaro (Chair), Krystyna Matusiak and Xiwen Liu.

Ana Pervan’s paper presents original research on the role of data curators in sharing scientific data and other forms of scholarly communication.  The panel judged that she employed an innovative research methodology, with findings that were relevant to both data curators and the research community.   

The award is aimed at encouraging original research and publication by those relatively new to the profession.  Ana Pervan started her career at the CERN Library and is now a Junior Library and Information Officer at the International Labour Organisation Library in Geneva.

The award will be formally announced at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress in Cape Town, South Africa in August 2015.
