Venue: Biblioteca Luigi De Gregori, Ministry of Education.

This year Government Libraries Section will be holding its satellite meeting in Rome, following the Athens WLIC. We are honoured to be hosted by the Biblioteca Luigi De Gregori – the library of the Ministry of Education – named in honour of the Italian organiser of IFLA's first conference in 1929.

On Friday 30 August we will discuss case studies from different countries and align these to the new Guidelines on Advocacy for Government Libraries. On Saturday 31 there will be optional visits to libraries in Rome. Alternatively, there are plenty of other opportunities for sightseeing in "the Eternal City".

There is no fee but please email glsrome2019@gmail.com to register at the earliest opportunity. Please state in the email if you will also attend the WLIC in Athens. As attendees are expected to come from the WLIC or be living in Europe, letters of invitation will be issued only in exceptional cases.

Update: Programme available!
