IFLA Global Vision Africa Regional Workshop

It’s the IFLA Global Vision regional workshop finale later this week as Africa takes to the stage on 7- 8 July in Durban, South Africa to discuss their ideas for actions for a united library field.

Library professionals from across Africa as well IFLA President Glòria Pérez-Salmerón and IFLA Secretary General Gerald Leitner will engage in two days of creative discussions and ideas for actions.

Speaking of his anticipation for the workshop, Gerald Leitner said: “Each Global Vision regional workshop produces incredible energy and I know Africa’s energy will be electric. We are ready for your ideas, Africa!”

A workshop of ideas

The regional workshops have started a chain of discussions around the world for countries, Library Associations and other institutions to turn the top ten highlights and opportunities in the IFLA Global Vision report summary into ideas for actions. The ideas will form the biggest ideas store – a source of inspiration for all librarians and a tool for IFLA’s future strategy.
