Forth IFLA Meeting of Experts on an International Cataloguing Code
(August 16-18, 2006, Seoul, Korea)
This invitation only meeting is the second in a series of regional meetings of cataloguing experts the IFLA Cataloguing Section has planned.
Goal
To increase the ability to share cataloguing information worldwide by promoting standards for the content of bibliographic and authority records used in library catalogues.
Objective for the 4th meeting
To examine cataloguing codes currently used in Asia to compare their similarities and differences with the 1961 Paris Principles; to review and possibly approve the 2003~2005 draft Statement of International Cataloguing Principles, from the European, the Latin American/Caribbean and the Arabic-speaking Middle East regional meetings of IME ICC; to see if our cataloging rules can be more similar; and perhaps to suggest proposals for an International Cataloguing Code.
